Dog Mentoring

Dog Mentor – Clemmie🐾
Clemmie, our qualified Dog Mentor, has been an important part of life at Bramley Grange Academy since she was just 10 weeks old. Having completed her Dog Mentor qualification in January 2024, Clemmie has developed into a much-loved member of our school community and provides a unique source of support for pupils.
Through individual Dog Mentor sessions, Clemmie helps pupils to develop confidence, empathy and emotional regulation, while providing a calm and supportive opportunity to step away from the busy school environment. Pupils may spend time walking with Clemmie, reading to her, practising tricks, completing puzzles and games, or simply sitting with her and talking.
Clemmie has supported pupils with a wide range of needs, helping them to recognise and express their feelings, develop positive relationships, build confidence and practise strategies for managing emotions and behaviour. Her sessions can also support learning through activities involving reading, communication, numbers, problem-solving and turn-taking.
Whether she is joining a pupil for a walk, patiently listening to a story, helping someone work through their feelings, out on school trips or simply offering a reassuring presence, Clemmie has a wonderful way of helping pupils feel comfortable, connected and understood.
She is much more than a school dog—Clemmie is a valued member of the Bramley Grange team, helping our pupils to thrive, one wagging tail at a time. 🐶❤️
And introducing Winnie, Clemmie's sister, affectionately known as "Wild Winnie", who is also a qualified Dog Mentor, following in her sisters footsteps, just 2 years behind.
Dog Mentor – Winnie 🐾
Winnie is our newly qualified Dog Mentor and a much-loved member of the Bramley Grange Academy community. She joined the school in September 2025 at just 10 weeks old and has grown from a playful puppy into a confident young Dog Mentor, learning alongside Clemmie and becoming an important part of school life.
Winnie supports pupils by helping to develop confidence, empathy and emotional regulation, while encouraging positive connections and providing emotional support. Pupils enjoy spending time with her through walks, tricks, games and interactive activities, creating opportunities to develop communication, patience, focus and confidence.
Winnie's playful and engaging personality helps pupils to relax and feel comfortable, providing a positive opportunity to step away from the busy school environment and spend time focusing on their feelings and wellbeing.
Having successfully completed her Dog Mentor assessment in July 2026, Winnie is now officially qualified and ready to continue making a positive difference to the pupils she works with.
Winnie has quickly learned the Bramley Grange way of life and is already proving that she is a very special member of our team—bringing fun, friendship and plenty of wagging tails wherever she goes! 🐶❤️
